A Soldier’s Tale

The soldier heart beat faster with anticipation
No one ever told him about the destruction
That his eye was to witness
Men full of pride of manhood lay there
He asked who was the author of this
Cruel and unnatural war, He wishes
And wonder why men would do this to their
Fellow man,
No room to walk without
Stepping on dead soldier
He asks his God to forgive them
He would never forget the lost soul

Inspired by A long way gone a memoir of a boy soldier
